TRUTH

Error, indeed, is never set forth in its naked deformity, lest, being thus exposed, it should at once be detected. But it is craftily decked out in an attractive dress, so as, by its outward form, to make it appear to the inexperienced (ridiculous as the expression may seem) more true than the truth itself. - Irenaeus

Miracles and Sodom

Some people get the wild idea that Jesus only rebuked the religious Pharisees calling them names.  Toward the end of his ministry he proclaimed judgement on whole cities.

Then He began to reproach the cities in which most of
His miracles were done, because they did not repent.
"Woe to you, Chorazin!  Woe to you Bethsaida! If the miracles had occurred in Tyre and Sidon which occurred in you they would have repented in sackcloth and ashes."
"And you Capernaum, will not be exalted to heaven, will you?  You shall descend to Hades; for if the miracles had occurred in Sodom which occurred in you, it would have remained to this day.  Nevertheless I say to you that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for you." (Matt.11:20-24)

We live in a society so twisted that
it has resorted to this in braille.

Hidden Reefs

Stay Alert!
The book of Jude gives us a graphic warning regarding our spiritual walk as Christians.   In reference to those who mingle among us that can do us much harm he writes "But these men are hidden reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you without fear..." (Jude 12).
Keeping a look out for other boats and floating debris
Living aboard several different sailboats while cruising the coast of Alaska and Canada as missionaries we learned many valuable lessons, many of which are highlighted in the Bible.  For the most part the art of sailing depends on very basic and practical skills; how deep is the water, how fast are we moving, and where is land.  Charts show us the depth of the water and a picture of the coastline around us but if we don't know where we are on the chart we are lost.  Learning to read and understand these charts is much like read the scripture.  We have to learn where we are in relationship to our surroundings, failure to do so can put us in grave danger.  One must be aware of tide changes which can cause a change in the previously plotted coarse.  Wind and current cause us to drift to the left or right and we have to check our course now and again to stay on track.

"For this reason we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it." (Hebrews 2:1)

In our day of high technology however many get themselves in trouble by depending too much on electronic gadgets and throw caution to the wind.  When technology fails in stormy weather or compromised visibility we can find ourselves on the rocks if we have lost our basic skills of navigation.  Waiting until a storm hits is not a good time to be learning how to navigate.  When the storm comes things get very hectic and confusing.  Learn basic biblical principles before the spam hits the fan.

Over extending ourselves can cause us to make mistakes as well.  Some close friends of ours on a trip to Alaska once pushed themselves too far without sleep, and while their beautiful yacht was on autopilot they fell asleep, ran aground and tore the bottom out of the boat nearly costing their lives.

Nietzsche's Dead

Son of a Lutheran pastor, the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) made the statement "God is Dead" in his publication The Gay Science (The Joyful Wisdom).
He had high visions for mankind in his work "Ubermensch" a superhuman goal for humanity but in 1889 at age 44 he suffered a mental break down.  His mind eluded him until his death.
God always gets the last word.
Voltaire was another infidel that God had fun with.  He had said before his death in 1778 that a hundred years after his time Christianity would cease to exist.  Fifty years later the Geneva Bible Society used Voltaire's house and printing press to print hundreds of Bibles.
Why do atheists use these?

The Devil made me do it!

The Devil made me do it!
For someone who has experienced an exorcism first hand this is not a laughing matter.  While western science and skeptics try to explain away the possibility of a real Devil the fact remains we live in a world full of evil and deception.  Much of this evil comes wearing a beautiful mask and flowery words.  Even church folks who might believe in the Bible often endorse a powerless dispensational view that places us outside the time frame of such possibilities and adapt a politically correct picture in which all can be remedied with a pill or a visit with a counselor.

A quick study of the Gospel of Mark reveals that about a third of the ministry of Jesus had to do with casting out demons and the Devil. We see the pattern continue in the Book of Acts through the lives of the early church.  A gospel without a real Devil is not the gospel of the Bible.  And a gospel without the power to cast out demons is not the real gospel.

Speak no more in this name!

Rumble shut down my video account without explanation.  So apparently they are no better than Youtube, Facebook or Twitter.  You cannot criticize Islam, Mormons or the LGBTQ crowd.

After apostle Peter healed a lame man he went on to preach the gospel calling them to turn from their wicked ways.  The response from the religious crowd was swift and to the point.  He and apostle John were thrown in jail and put on trial.   Their accusers could not deny that a miracle had taken place they warned them that it may not spread any further among the people, and they were forbidden to speak any more to anyone in the name of Jesus.  (Acts 4:16-18)  Little has change.  Today the same spirit that tried to silence the followers of Christ is at work doing the same.  The demons tremble at the name and authority of Jesus.  Facebook is famous for locking people out of their accounts for simply exposing the lies of Islam and the insanity of the LGBTQwxyz movement.

Bring the mission field back to Amerika

We used to send missionaries to third world countries.  But now we bring them home where we educate them at secular institutions where we are forbidden to present Christian ethics or the gospel.  The head counselors and language interpreters in our public schools are members of the LGBTQ crowd, wiccans and other cultists.  If you say anything you will be isolated or fired for bigotry or some form of phobia.  You will be accused of racism or a hate crime.
Thou shall not expose sin and deception
in the public school system

So in the end, our country will turn into the countries that was once the third world mission field.  But we can no longer go home and get away from it.
Every culture produces its own fruit.  Jesus said we would know them by their fruit.

Copper verses Plastic

Antimicrobial properties of copper
Anyone who has spent much time around boats in salt water will know that copper in bottom paint will keep barnacles and other forms of life from growing on the bottom of your boat.  At one time wood ships nailed sheets of copper to the hulls below the waterline for precisely that reason.  Hundreds of years ago it was known that water stored in copper pots would stay fresh longer than pots made of other items.  A few copper pennies made before 1982 used to be a remedy for ridding your fish aquarium of certain green slime and snails.  Also a copper flashing along the ridge line of your roof will protect your roof from growing moss.  A little copper sulfate in the toilet drain will stop the roots from clogging your sewer line.  It little copper sulphate will rid your swimming pool or reservoir of algal blooms.

It is a proven fact that door handles made of copper, bronze or brass will be free of most bacteria in just a few hours while stainless steel which has become a standard in medical institutions and kitchens has a neutral effect on bacteria.  You will notice copper listed in many multivitamins.  We need some degree of the stuff.  More and more plastics are being used as containers for water and food storage yet it takes only a few hours in the hot sun for bacteria to blossom and at the same time certain toxins from the plastic to find its way into the liquid stored.

The days of the lead pipes of Rome are long gone (and for good reason) but now many new homes no longer have copper pipes because of the expense, and remodels are tearing it out as well and replacing it with new cheaper plastic.  I wonder what the long term effects we will see, if any, in the future.
