Christian Science, is it really?

It has been said about Christian Science that it is like 

Grape Nuts, it is neither grapes nor nuts.

The Christian Science cult started by Mary Baker Eddy is typical of many mind science cults in that it appeals to the ego of man.   It implies that through proper thinking, or mind over matter, one can manipulate circumstances for ones own benefit.  Mary Baker Eddy claimed to have discovered how to heal disease and published her book Science and Health, with key to the Scriptures in 1875.  Using biblical language it redefines nearly every doctrine of the Christian faith. 

 Claiming that God is Mind we are lead to believe that we can attain the mind of Christ through proper thinking.  "The notion that both evil and good are real is a delusion of material sense, which Science annihilates.  Evil is nothing..."   (pg 330)  Science and Health teaches that Jesus cast out devils because they are nothing but delusions. (pg 348)  Her idea of speaking in new tongues was merely to speak positive words over these delusions. (pg. 349)  She claimed that ghosts are groundless, erroneous and man-made.  One's health can be restore by simply rejecting this idea of childish timidity. (pg. 352)
The Science of Mind disposes of all evil by claiming Christ came to destroy the belief of sin.  Baker claimed that "Jesus is the human man, and Christ is the divine idea".  Science and Health is very clear in its teaching that Jesus is not God. (pg 473)

Any bible student should be able to see the error of Baker Eddy's teaching.  Jesus dealt with real demons, spoke of a real Devil, and shed his blood for real sins in order to save us from a real hell.

Evil is but an illusion (pg. 480)

Tell that to the thousands killed on 9/11

Some Christians have confused real faith in healing for this mind science concept of faith.  True faith however is to believe God to heal us, not that we can heal ourselves through proper thinking or by denying reality.
